The Education Revolution

How long do you think Rudd can talk of a revolution in education? I mean there is nothing new except more of the same ! What passion is there to drive it?
Sir H They are getting more water tanks
Bern: Yeh, water on the brain perhaps ? If there is a urgent need for change - where is it, and on what basis?
SirH Do you think the teachers are not supportive of Mr Rudd ?
Bern: Well I think they are not sure what it means? they are concerned that many people ( even athiests) are increasingly sending their kids to church schools.

SirH: well, why are parents increasingly sending their kids to church schools ?
Bern: Hard to say clearly, Its not just faith questions. Church people are setting up these schools because they believe faith is important part of education that they as communities can teach about all sorts of subjects as well as anybody.

The State system is quietly promoting a view that education is a purely secular thing - "There is no place for religion in schools". Many teachers in state schools are supportive of that view , even where chaplains are supported or RE is taught.
Sir H well perhaps the teachers who believe that education is a purely secular thing, should set up their own schools?
That's the way to preserve both passion and diversity ?
Bern Would anyone go ?
SirH : Well if the teachers can't really support diversity in state schools, the state system will fail
Bern I see what you mean ---it is failing mate .
